Founder, Solicitor and Principal Legal Adviser
Monica is the CEO and principal legal adviser of MOCN Consulting. Monica possesses a remarkably diverse background as an effective litigator, educator, public advocate and communicator, and is widely recognized for her successful work in the private, public and non-profit sectors.
Monica has over 30 years' experience in practicing law and prior to forming MOCN Consulting, worked for over a decade in the NGO sector providing expert legal advise on housing, welfare benefits and employment rights. Prior to that, Monica worked in private practice and as an international diplomat; most notably at the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in the Hague, the Netherlands.
Monica is a qualified barrister and solicitor, who is qualified to practice in three jurisdictions (England and Wales, Kenya and Nigeria). She is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, an associate member of the Institute of Money Advisers and a member of the Black Lawyers Association.
Monica graduated from the University of Lagos with a Bachelor's in Law (hons) and holds a LL.M. in Criminal Litigation.
In her spare time, Monica loves to sing in her church choir, read fictional books and travel.
Pauline (Polly) Nguru

Legal Adviser
Polly serves in a voluntary position as our legal adviser.
Polly has several years of experience in EU law and policy-making, having worked in the EU institutions, Banking & Finance, an NGO and international law firms in Brussels and London.
Polly earned her first LL.M. (Magna Cum Laude) in International and European Law from the Institute of European Studies (Belgium) and the second in intellectual property & ICT Law from KU Leuven (Belgium). She obtained her LL.B (hons) degree in Law with French Law from Kingston University (London).
Polly has advanced knowledge of French and conversational Spanish and German.
In her past life as a student, Polly worked for several years in the food and retail industries, where she was able to develop her customer service skills.
She is a passionate advocate for women and children's rights and enjoys travelling, hiking, exploring her surroundings on foot and learning languages.
